The task of the Institute is the collection and
management of documents belonging to the
state security institutions, which were written
out between years: 1944 and 1990. Conducting
investigations concerning the war crimes: nazi
and communist. Educational activities. Within the
frames of the Institute there are the following
acting organs: Main Committee of Chasing the
Crimes against the Polish Nation, Inspection
Office, Documents Archive Office and Public
Education Office.

and learning. To the main tasks of the Ministry
belong the cases connected with the scholarship
aid for scholars, external examinations, state
policy for young people, employment of teachers,
their advancements and salaries, didactic programs
means of education and nursery school training,
general education and professional education

covers the economical matters including the
foreign economical cooperation, industrial
property, economical coordination, cooperation
with the economical autonomy organizations
as well as power engineering and certification.

economy and inland economy, spatial and housing
economy, communications, road transport, marine
transport and airline transport. Besides it deals
with the problems from telecommunications,
post offices and European funds.

conservation, initiatives aiming to maintain the
national tradition, custody and supervision of
artistic education, custody of the domains of:

administration like:“science” and “Higher Studies”
and is the administrator of budget for the
development and research works in the country

duties, management of the armed forces in the
time of peace, creation of the state defense
policy including the propositions concerning the
development and structure of the armed forces,
realization of decisions and guidelines of the
national security system and conclusion of

organizational units dealing with the cases of
government administration like: “social security”,
“work” and “family affairs”. These departments
deal with the problems of employment and
unemployment prevention, work relationships
and work conditions, development and protection
of married families, government initiatives of
help to families, retirement funds and social
securities, social provisioning.
