About the Company

Dry lubricating coatings are used in many industries, particularly where conventional lubricants are unsuitable or undesirable. They are applied to lubricate components operating at high temperatures, in dusty environments, or in the presence of moisture, as well as in applications where cleanliness and freedom from contamination are essential, such as in the food processing industry.

Thanks to their unique properties, including high-temperature resistance, corrosion protection, and friction reduction, dry lubricants are indispensable in many critical applications. Dry-film lubricants consist of solid lubricating materials (most commonly molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂), graphite, PTFE, or boron nitride) dispersed in an organic or inorganic binder. A solvent is added to facilitate the application of the coating and evaporates during curing or drying.

Dry-film lubricant coatings are applied after careful surface preparation by dipping, spraying, or brushing. The resulting dry film typically has a thickness of 10–20 μm. It is resistant to heavy loads and extreme temperatures, does not attract dirt, and offers excellent chemical resistance as well as long-lasting lubrication performance.

Properties of Dry Lubricants

  • High-temperature resistance – substances such as molybdenum disulfide and boron nitride remain stable at temperatures where conventional oils decompose.
  • Low friction – dry lubricants form a thin film with a very low coefficient of friction, protecting surfaces from wear.
  • Corrosion protection – the dry lubricant layer acts as a barrier, protecting metal surfaces from moisture and aggressive chemicals.
  • Resistance to dust and contamination – unlike oil-based lubricants, dry lubricants do not attract dust and dirt, making them ideal for use in heavily contaminated environments.

Applications of Dry Lubrication

Industrial Applications

  • Lubrication of guideways, bearings, gears, hinges, conveyor systems, and other machine components.
  • Lubrication in high-temperature, dusty, and humid environments where conventional lubricants may fail or cause contamination.
  • Lubrication of components in contact with food products, where cleanliness and contamination-free operation are required.
  • Lubrication of gear drives and steel cables, especially in corrosion-prone environments.
  • Lubrication of components subjected to high pressures and heavy loads.
  • Applications in the automotive, aerospace, machinery manufacturing, mining, and steel industries.

Other Applications

  • Lubrication of locks, hinges, and chains.
  • Use in precision mechanisms and equipment where cleanliness and contamination-free operation are essential.
  • Protection of components against corrosion and wear.
  • Use in environments requiring resistance to high temperatures, dust, and aggressive conditions.
  • Anti-friction coatings for metal, plastic, and ceramic surfaces.

Reliable Aerosol Dry Lubricating Coatings

  • FCH – SS HY Spray – molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂)-based coating; operating temperature range: -185°C to +450°C
  • FCH – SS AGG Spray – graphite-based coating; operating temperature range: 0°C to +1000°C
  • FCH – SS ABN Spray – boron nitride coating; operating temperature range: 0°C to +1000°C, and up to +2000°C in inert gases
